As a young girl, I would spend hours drawing in my room, replicating the world around me and in my own mind. I enjoyed drawing but also the experience which helped me get to a different mind space and perspective.
I have always been interested in Asian culture and artwork. Recently, I have become fascinated with mandalas and felt compelled to start creating my own.
Since I have started drawing again, using the mandala format, I have happily reawakened the excitement and creativity I remember feeling as a young girl.
I love coming up with new designs and watching the seed in the center of the circle grow into a larger whole. I am often very surprised by the end result, because the creative process is much bigger than the self.
By day, I’m a writer and communications professional. I look forward to crafting some greeting and message cards from my mandala drawings.
